The colours of India through your favourite meals

A commonly observed trait among Indians is our love for food. India, a country globally admired for its culture and diversity, shares nothing short of a celebration when it comes to food. The Indian cuisine is inviting even at first glance. With its vibrant colours, pockets of flavour and spices, there are many delicacies to choose from. Each Indian state offers a unique food palate that leaves you asking for more.
In collaboration with celebrity chef Ranveer Brar, Home Centre brings you five delectable recipes from different states of India that will sprinkle joy over your taste buds and have you savour every last morsel.

Amritsari Choley - A Punjabi recipe from Chef Ranveer Brar

Think of Punjab, and your mind immediately wanders to Choley Bhature. The signature dish is a favourite amongst people across the country. However, the true star of the dish is the Choley – or chickpeas. While there are many variants of this dish, here we talk about the famous Amritsari Choley, in particular. Best enjoyed with buttery Kulchas, these are made with generous amounts of spices and flavour. Packed with protein, chickpeas offer various health benefits. They improve digestion, support blood sugar control, reduce the risk of several diseases, and so much more. The blended spice mix cooks together beautifully in this Corsica Black Deep Kadhai and the glass lid helps you monitor and cook everything to perfection.

Spicy Kolhapuri Thecha with Nachni Bhakri

Much like the name suggests, the spicy Kolhapuri Thecha packs a good amount of heat. The Maharashtrian dish makes for a mouth-watering meal and is packed with nutrients. The spicy Thecha promotes weight loss and kick-starts metabolism. It also calms your gut and keeps your heart healthy. The Nachni Bhakri, made from ragi flour, is high in protein, fibre, and antioxidants. Ragi is also known to be great for the skin since it contains vitamin B3. Talk about superfoods, huh? Cook your Bhakris with love on the Corsica Black Concave Griddle Tawa for easy-peel given its non-stick feature.

Farra - A Chattisgarhi recipe

This savoury dish can be enjoyed at any time of the day. Essentially made from rice and rice flour, this dish is rich in calcium, contains fibre and choline, and is gluten-free. While calcium helps maintain bone and skeletal health, choline prevents fat and cholesterol build-up in your liver and supports liver health. The preparation and cooking method is also said to be similar to that of pasta, such as Ravioli! Toss and cook your Farra with ease in the Altos Dolmen Stir Wok, stirring up this dish in a jiffy.

Dahi Lukhmi - A Hyderabadi recipe

Most of our evenings at home are spent craving for a crisp, savoury snack. And if you're in the mood for experimentation and something new, Dahi Lukhmi certainly cuts it. It makes for a great appetiser and is sure to bring the whole family together. Enjoy it with tea, or simply nibble on it as is; the flaky exterior texture will leave you craving for more. Get that perfect golden brown finish with the Corsica Black Fry Pan that makes handling easy with its sleek finish.

Thekua - A Bihari recipe

If you're looking for a sweet, hassle-free snack, this dish is for you. Thekua is a dry sweet that is popular across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Nepal's Terai region. It is also offered as a prasad during Chhath Puja. Sweetened with jaggery, this snack is perfect for those of us who prefer dry desserts without any sugar syrup. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, this makes for a family favourite. To deep-fry with ease and in large quantities, opt for the Color Connect Kadhai.
